Orphan/Cassandra Cain escapes her mother, Lady Shiva, and the League of Assassins and is taken in by Barbara Gordon. Joker becomes an anti-heroic, almost V for Vendetta type figure devoted to stopping Batman out of vengeance, not necessarily out of altruism.īane is a general in the League of Assassins but is plotting to overthrow Batman to make himself leader. She also acts as the LoA's main advisor on sorcery.īatman kills Harley Quinn, which makes The Joker undergo a existential crisis as Batman has ruined their "game" by making him genuinely grieve for Harley. She uses Batman's corruption as an excuse to forbid all Amazons from contact with Man's World, except for the Amazonian warriors she secretly offers to the League of Assassins as initiates. Ocean Master deposes Aquaman as King of Atlantis, while Aquaman attempts a guerilla war to retake his thrown.Ĭirce imprisons and impersonates Hippolyta. This leads to Superman and his family of Lois and Jonathan going into hiding, possibly exiling themselves into Earth IJ-2. Some bullet points about the state of Earth-IJ3:īatman installs Lex Luthor as President of the United States, who makes Superman a public enemy. And Damian, who initially thought his father was doing what he should have always done, feels guilt over his decision leading to the world's devastation. He doesn't trust any heroes to join his fold so he employs their villains to deal with them before they can seek him out, so many of Earth-IJ3's heroes are exiled, imprisoned, missing, or dead. Batman uses the LoA to turn the world into a dystopia, though unlike Earth-IJ2's Superman's Regime he works through the shadows to undermine the world instead of overt authoritarian rule. Gradually Bruce becomes more in line with the LoA's beliefs until he finally accepts Ra's al Ghul's offer as the new leader, though he keeps Ra's alive as a vizier. Bruce is revived and accepts the deal for Damian's sake, forsaking his oath of never killing and leading to the deaths of most of his rogue's gallery. Damian returns to his mother and grandfather with his father's body, making a deal to resurrect Bruce with a Lazarus Pit in return for joining the League of Assassins (on Earth-IJ3 Jason Todd wasn't resurrected via this method so Damian wouldn't know this may not be the best idea). Instead, on Earth-IJ3 Batman dies during a mission. On Earth-IJ3 Superman never kills the Joker and establishes the Regime, he remains the classic hero that Earth-IJ2 Batman wishes his Superman was. For simplicity's sake I'll refer to the Earth from the first two games with Superman's Regime as Earth-IJ2 and the Earth introduced in Injustice 3 as Earth-IJ3. My premise for Injustice 3 is similar to Injustice 1, where two separate universes come into conflict with each other. Though it is possible Premier Skins in Injustice 3 would work more like TMNT where one character slot has an altered moveset based on the skin. I wouldn't want to just have Hal Jordan with a dozen Premier Skins. I also had to consider what characters could just be Premier Skins for others, especially when it came to the Green Lantern characters as I feel like their unique personalities should reflect in their movesets. I do think NetherRealm should embrace Injustice 3 as a long-term game with plenty of potential DC characters to add ala Super Smash Brothers Ultimate and Tekken 7, rather than just what they do in-between the next Mortal Kombat. I had to sacrifice some personal favorites like Blue Beetle, Firestorm, and Black Canary but I don't rule out them returning as DLC. Injustice: Gods Among Us' 24 launch characters. That's a high but still realistic number if we're continuing the trend of slightly more total characters with each game, as Injustice 2 had 28 characters at launch vs. I set a hard limit for myself of 32 characters for the base roster, 33 with Superboy as a pre-order bonus. ![]() Red Lantern/Green Lantern/Guy Gardner (Simon Baz) Green Lantern/Sojourner Mullein (Jessica Cruz) Before I get further into the story I'll lay out my picks for the roster.Ĭharacters returning from Injustice 2, including those that debuted in Injustice: Gods Among Us (Premier Skins in parentheses):Ĭharacters returning from Injustice: Gods Among Us (Premier Skins in parentheses):Ĭharacters debuting in Injustice 3 (Premier Skins in parentheses):īatgirl/Orphan/Cassandra Cain (Barbara Gordon) The basic thesis is that the first two games dealt with an evil Superman and his Regime, so Injustice 3 will introduce a universe where Batman becomes evil and takes over the world by assuming leadership of the League of Assassins. I've been brewing up a premise for an Injustice 3 and it's roster for a while now. ![]()
